Below are stones that I have come across or have been told about but have not found any reference to them in any texts.
Belles Fleurs Stone
Parish of Grouville
Type:
Stone
Date:
Unknown
Description:
A large pointed block of granite that had fallen and been hidden by undergrowth for ten years. Shows clear wedge holes where someone has tried to remove the the lower bulge and has evidently been used as a gatepost.
Location:
At the side of La Rue au Blancq just inside the fencing of Belles Fleurs Nursery and Garden Center.
A large granite block found in 2004 by workmen digging in a garden. Initially removed by them it was returned at the owners request and now stands a few meters from where it was found.
Location:
In the garden of a private house off La Rue D'Olive.
Marked on the Jersey Place Names map as 'menhir?' this stone was removed from its location a couple of years ago. The stone is approximately 2m long and its lower section is straight and squared off suggesting that it was quarried for use as a gatepost.
Location:
Originally at the side of a field/yard off La Rue de Causie
