Description:

Roman fort built in the 4th century AD and which originally contained a tall internal tower. A large section of the east curtain wall fell on to the beach sometime during the middle ages. Since then the fort has been used as barracks, a home, possibly a convent and a Resistance Nest by the Germans during World War II.
Location: At the western end of Longis Bay.
